I’ve been searching all along
I’ve been staring into strangers like a protest song
every time I spoke or made sound
like a spoke I broke and tried to break down
I’ve been careless with my restless head
unaware of all the smoke and stoked the sunburnt red
I was only trying to break ground
I’m and antidote that never got found
I think I’m thinking too much
I think I’m losing some touch
ran away for far too long and lost the things I need to hear I’ve ben thinking too far
I’ve been drinking and shrinking in an empty bar
where we somehow found a way to be sincere
Its the same routine each April brings
Open up and let the tardy snow erase your spring
I was always one to get by
never shied away from staring at your grey may sky
you were taking too long
you were making up all my wrongs
knowing no one would protest or intercede
now I’m wringing my hands
I’m smoking and joking like a foolish man
who stubbornly holds on to the things he doesn't need
You don't chuckle like you used to you don't smile when you let me in i’m like the winter cold and silent your eyes are dust with a heavy wing
You’re my fait accompli and I'm your misery we know that we cant remedy or walk away from another cynical spring
surrender everything
to the fragile frame of mind that keeps begging me to stay
